What do we look for in chess coaches?

Chess.sg is looking to expand our team! We take coaching excellence very seriously and are looking for part-time chess coaches with the following qualities:

  1. Genuine care for student’s well-being and chess improvement.

  2. Able to communicate chess concepts clearly.

  3. Able to make lessons fun and interesting.

  4. Responsive and communicative to our administrative staff, students and their parents.

  5. Rated at least 1600 on chess.com rapid/blitz or 1900 on lichess rapid/blitz. Most of our coaches have a rating of at least 1800.

  6. At least 18 years old and based in Singapore.

  7. Able to commit for a period of at least 1 year.

The starting role is a freelance position, and coaches who have demonstrated an excellent coaching track record will be considered for full-time positions.

Coach Registration
